day 31

Day 30 of 365 is a picture of the necklace I made for my girlfriend as a Valentine's day gift last year.

Day 29. The days are growing longer and the nights at home are growing shorter. Where did my free time go? I guess thats part of life. Its easy to get side tracked in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and take things for granted. Its important to stop, look around and take a reality check every now and then to make sure you still have a grasp on what matters most.

I think im starting to get the idea when it comes to some of the low key product photography. This is my first attempt at a wine glass, I definitely have some work to do but i feel im off to a good start.

This building has always drawn my eye so I decided to take a picture of it tonight.

For day 25 I took another self portrait. this time I went for a close up low key look. this is the black and white version, however i do have a color version as well. I do not own a flash for my camera, and since they can be quite expensive i settled for a 15 dollar strobe light from Wal-Mart. There is quite a bit more trial and error involved but it still works.

I have seen an image similar to this one before and decided to replicate it. I feel it turned out well.

The photo for day 22 was actually taken on my way to work this morning. I typically don't enter the parking lot from this side, however i have a couple times in the past and always liked the way it looked at just the right time. I originally had a tonemapped hdr photo in mind, but unfortunately my lens limited me due to it's chromatic aberrations being too sever to edit out. so i took my 5 exposures and stacked them in photoshop, adjusting opacities and such until i got the final result.

    Bio

My name is Paul and I currently live in Lubbock, Tx. I enjoy playing Paintball, Cycling,     anything involving electronics, and Photography to name a few.

My interest in photography actually stemmed from an interest in videography. At an early age i would make home videos featuring exploding hotwheels, primitive horror films and even the more adventurous videos of my friends and i bombing hills on longboards and home made street luges. It was when i started dabbling in stop motion videography that i became interested in photography. I started out with my mother's point and shoot, yet i felt like there was so much untapped potential unachievable with her camera that i decided rather quickly that i needed a better one. By this time i had a job and after a couple of months got myself a bigger better camera. I joined a camera club in high school and a few years after graduating i got my hands on a Pentax DSLR. Pentax really appealed to me because of the enormous amount of compatibility with older, less expensive lenses.

Photography has been a part of my life for about 7 years now, although it has been a serious passion for only about 2-4 years on and off.
